I originally posted this on October 12th, and wrote that I wasn’t sure if the fall colours had peaked. I said that if I waited too long, I’d have too many to pick from and I’d never get it posted. It seems that I was way early, so on November 15th, I added more!
Recently I have been experimenting with this year’s version of ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate, which introduced the ability to merge several photos into a panorama, and a fast way to select the sky, among many other improvements. Four of these photos are panoramas, and in the long treeline panorama, I selected the sky and the trees separately in order to process each differently. I have tried switching in an entirely different sky in another photo (not included here) but I didn’t find the result very natural. I probably need to take separate sky photos for this, but then I would probably keep picking the most dramatic sky, and that’s most likely the reason it wasn’t natural!
I did, however, succumb to the temptation to digitally turn one goose around so both were swimming in the same direction – full disclosure!
To enjoy these photos to their fullest, a large screen is recommended; just click on any image, and you’ll be able to see each one individually and scroll through all of the pictures until it loops back.
As it turns out, all but one of the (12-Oct) photos were taken on my “walkabout” camera, a mirrorless Nikon Z50. It’s light enough to carry anywhere, so I tend to bring it every time I go for a walk. (Of the 10 later ones, 6 were taken on a full frame camera and one on my phone.)
